2021 FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR
Ladies and Gentleman, at our annual appreciation dinner on January 10th, we named Lieutenant/Paramedic Jeff Herman Jr. our 2021 GVFD Firefighter of the Year!

Joining the department on September 8, 2003, Jeff has been a staple at our station ever since. Always a leader in drills and runs made, Jeff is a huge asset on both the fire and EMS side with his knowledge and skill base. Jeff is also instrumental in the upkeep and maintenance of our trucks and equipment, as well as in charge of our radios and communications.

Jeff, thank you for your service and dedication to our department, and congratulations on a well deserved award!

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY
We can’t thank everyone enough for coming out to the station tonight and seeing Santa!! This tradition has gone on for over 100 years and we hope it continues for 100 more!

Don’t forget, Santa will be back in town on December 24th!! We will be escorting him around town starting at 1pm, so come outside and wave! (It will take approximately 2 hours to hit every street)

Merry Christmas!!

GVFD CHRISTMAS PARADE
More Christmas news!!! Residents of Gibsonburg, due to popular demand, the Santa parade returns this year.

GVFD will escort Santa around town on Christmas Eve, December 24th, starting at 1 pm. We will make every effort to drive down every street in the village. Last year, it took 2 hours to complete.
We enjoyed participating with Santa a lot last year, but it was our younger residents who had the greatest time as well as those of all ages.

When you hear us approaching on your street (and you will definitely hear us), step outside and wave to Santa and your firefighters. This is another way of wishing our residents a very Merry Christmas.

REVERSE RAFFLE WINNER
Friends and Supporters, we held our biggest fundraiser of the year this past Saturday night at Ole Zim’s, our reverse raffle event, and we’re happy to say that none other than lifelong Gibsonburg resident and GVFD Honorary Member Tony Picciuto walked away the winner!!

In typical Tony fashion….“Ain’t that funny, it took me 99 years to win something!” Also….“Boy, this is a lot of paperwork, but we can go through it every day if you promise to bring a check like that over!”

Bless your heart, Tony, and we can’t thank you enough for all the support you’ve given us over the years. It must be true what they say, what comes around goes around!
Congrats, Tony!!!!
